Brock University
Brock University has instituted a campus-wide vaccination requirement with no option of rapid testing for individuals who do not wish to get the vaccine.
Carleton University
Carleton has instituted a strict campus-wide vaccination policy. The university states “Unvaccinated individuals without an approved permitted exemption will not be able to attend campus or any University activity in person.”
Lakehead University
Students, staff, and faculty at Lakehead University are subject to a campus-wide vaccination requirement, with no option of frequent rapid testing presented. The vaccine is mandatory for students living in residence and student-athletes.
Laurentian University
A campus-wide vaccine mandate has been implemented at Laurentian University, with no option of providing negative rapid tests.
McMaster University
At McMaster University, a campus-wide mandatory vaccine policy has been instituted. The university states “Without proof of vaccination or an approved exemption, community members or visitors will not be permitted to be on McMaster campus or attend a university facility.” The university had previously announced that the vaccine is mandatory for students living in residence as well as varsity athletes.
Nipissing University
The vaccine is required for all students, faculty, staff and visitors coming to campus, however, individuals may instead opt for rapid testing. Students living in residence, students participating in varsity athletics and club sports, as well as students conducting face-to-face research with human subjects must produce proof of vaccination.
OCAD University
OCAD University has issued a campus-wide vaccine requirement with no alternative of frequent rapid testing for those who do not wish to get the vaccine.
Queen’s University
Queen’s has issued a campus-wide vaccine requirement and stated “Unvaccinated individuals without an approved accommodation will not be able to attend campus or participate in any university activity in person.”
Ryerson University
The vaccine is mandatory at Ryerson University and there is no indication that individuals may instead opt for rapid testing should they choose not to get the vaccine. Previously, the university had announced the vaccine would be mandatory for students living in residence and student-athletes.
Saint Paul University
Proof of vaccination is required to be on the Saint Paul University campus. There is no indication that rapid testing is being offered as an alternative option for those who do not wish to get the vaccine.
Trent University
Trent University has instituted a campus-wide vaccine requirement, though individuals have the option of frequent rapid testing. The vaccine is mandatory for students living in residence.
University of Guelph
A campus-wide vaccine mandate is in effect at the University of Guelph and no alternative options have been provided.
The university previously announced the vaccine would be mandatory for students living in residence as well as the university’s 700 varsity athletes. All students enrolled in face-to-face theatre and music classes must have the vaccine or will not be permitted to participate in the class.
Ontario Tech University
Ontario Tech University has instituted a campus-wide vaccine policy. A university spokesperson indicated that students who remain unvaccinated out of personal preference will only have the option of online courses. The vaccine is mandatory for students living in residence.
University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa is requiring Covid vaccination of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the campus. They were the first university in Canada to announce this policy, on August 10, 2021. Those with a “personal preference against vaccinations” will not be provided with any rapid testing option.
University of Toronto
The University of Toronto has instituted a campus-wide vaccination requirement and is not providing individuals with the option of rapid testing. The university states “Members of our community who are unvaccinated and do not have an approved exemption are not permitted to come to campus.”
University of Waterloo
The University of Waterloo has implemented a campus-wide vaccine mandate and states “Without proof of vaccination, or an accommodation, you are not permitted to come to campus.”
University of Windsor
At the University of Windsor, everyone on campus is required to be vaccinated and there is no indication that those who do not wish to be vaccinated will be provided with a rapid testing option. Previously, the university had announced all varsity student athletes and student athletic therapists must have the Covid vaccine.
Western University
Western University has instituted a campus-wide vaccine policy and is not providing individuals with the option of rapid testing.
Wilfrid Laurier
Wilfrid Laurier University has instituted a campus-wide vaccine policy with no alternative of rapid testing for those who do not wish to get the vaccine.
York University
York University has instituted a campus-wide vaccination policy. The vaccine is mandatory for students living in residence.
